Following our recent achievement as the first ever production kitchen to earn the Soil Association's Green Kitchen Standard certification, we're over the moon to share that we've also retained our BRCGS AA rating, the highest mark you can get for food safety and quality. 

 

This certification is only awarded to businesses that excel in operational standards, hygiene, traceability and process control. Maintaining our AA rating is down to the hard work and consistency of everyone on our team.

What is a BRCGS certification?

Recognised globally, the BRCGS (Brand Reputation Compliance Global Standard) sets the gold standard for food safety and quality.  

 

Now in its ninth edition, the standard provides organisations a clear framework for managing the safety, integrity and quality of their products and services. 

What the Global Standard for Food Safety covers

The Global Standard sets out how processed foods and related products (such as branded goods, own-label items, or ingredients used in catering and manufacturing) should be produced and managed. 

 

Certification applies specifically to the site being audited, ensuring that every product made, prepared or stored there meets the same rigorous benchmarks. 

 

The standard is built around seven key areas: 

 

  • Senior management commitment and continual improvement 
  • The Food Safety Plan (HACCP) 
  • Food safety and quality management system 
  • Site standards 
  • Product control 
  • Process control 
  • Personnel 

Why an AA rating matters

An AA rating is the highest grade you can achieve from a BRCGS audit. It's only awarded to businesses that demonstrate exceptional levels of food safety, hygiene, traceability and process control, not just on audit day, but every single day.
