Medirest’s Champion Dish Hits Steamplicity Menus

At Cuisine Centre, we believe that everyone deserves access to food which is not just nutritious, but also full of flavour and care, whatever the setting. That’s why we are proud to have recently teamed up with Medirest to bring an exceptional, award-winning dish to NHS hospital dining as part of the Steamplicity Spring/Summer 2025 menu.

 

The Hake Gnocchi in a Tomato Sauce was created by Medirest chefs Manuela Miccoli and Alejandro Bedoya Hernandez, who with it won the prestigious NHS Chef of The Year competition in 2024. Their incredible efforts showcase the care that Medirest take in creating a great dining experience for patients, and the remarkable quality which goes into their dishes.

 

The dish captured the judge’s attention with its vibrant flavour and brilliant execution, and we knew it deserved to be shared with the 24 NHS Trusts we are proud to partner with.

 

Working hand-in-hand with Medirest’s chefs and dietitians, our development team took great care in translating the original dish into a format that could be enjoyed by many without losing the qualities that made it special. From the perfectly flaky Hake to the fresh tomato sauce, every element was carefully considered to ensure integrity, taste and nutrition.

 

Cuisine Centre make over 6,000 Steamplicity dishes per year, but all of them are handled with the same attention to detail and respect for their ingredients. Our role is not just about scale, but about preserving the essence of each dish whilst making it accessible to those who need it most.
